Emails and Instagram accounts have been redacted to protect the privacy of the foster parents. Most of these animals have since been adopted, but some may still be available. Photos and bios are primarily from the foster parents, design done by me.

Original Flyer Design

Updated Flyer Design (Full Page)

With input from communications department, updated flyers with brand colors. Full page flyers are used in a binder at events and in the adoption lobby and provide more information than the half page alternative.

Updated Flyer Design (Half Page)

Half page designs are used in the shelter in a dedicated space in the kennels to promote foster animals. The smaller design allows us to promote more animals in a limited amount of space.

Email Design

As a department, we typically send at least one promotional email per day. Here are just a few of the dozens that I have made. Some include creating header images, taking photos and videos of the animals, and writing bios, while others just compile that content from other staff and volunteers.

2021 TNR

2021 was a good year for saving cats. #cat #foryou #fyp

I tried to keep track of everyone I trapped in 2021, as I started with the “26 Cats” and worked on a few other projects in January and February alone.

I did not personally trap every one of these cats, but I was involved in the project that each of them was in. Some found rescue placement, some needed medical treatment, and most returned to the colonies that they call home.

I trapped a few times over the years but got more involved around the time COVID started. I worked on a few large projects in 2020 as well as some smaller ones. This is also when I started helping with my local colony of 40+ cats.

I wrapped up the year with another large project of nearly 30 cats. I lost track, but I always try to take pictures of the cats I trap.

Garden Center Mockups

Disclaimer: Fairytale Gardens is not real. It was created for the purpose of these mockups.

Fairytale Gardens is a small, family-owned garden center on the outskirts of Shippensburg. They have a small, but strong client base who tend to buy all the products and plants that they can from the company. They do not have a large marketing budget, so they wanted a simple handout created that they could print from the office, a billboard to promote their business to people traveling on the nearby interstate road, and a website so new customers can find them online. They are located a bit off the main road in town, so they do not get much traffic from people who are just driving by. For this reason, the handouts, billboard, and website are important parts of increasing their reach for in-person sales.

Their teenage daughter enjoys using social media, so she plans to post their sales and available plants on Facebook and Instagram. She also plans to expand their reach to TikTok where she can create fun gardening videos and Pinterest where she can post DIY ideas for the average gardener. She will make tutorials with her dad to post on their new YouTube channel. These social networks will allow them to have a greater reach than just local clients, which can be an additional source of revenue through ads and partnerships with other brands for equipment and supplies.

Handout with Coupons

Two-sided handout with coupons and information. 0.25 inch margins allow it to be printed three to a standard 8.5×11″ page.

Billboard

Would be placed along a highway near the garden center.

Homepage for Website

Not fully functional since it is a sample for design purposes. Directions would link to their address on Google Maps, social icons would be linked to their corresponding profiles, and there could be multiple pages on their website if they wanted it to include more than the basic information.

Logo

Six color options are available for this vector logo. Color and size can easily be modified for any project. Red and yellow are preferred, but others may be used for projects with a limited color palette or where it better fits the design.

Fix Philly Policy

Fix Philly: Mandatory Microchipping and Intact Animal Registration in Philadelphia

Sample policy created for my Domestic and Companion Animal Policy course. I recognize that policies only affect those who choose to follow them and that mandatory spay/neuter policies have had negative effects in municipalities where it has been implemented in the past.
